LinkedIn Thought Leader Ads (sponsored posts from real people, promoted with the author's permission) benchmark at around $0.51 cost per click against $2.42 for standard LinkedIn ads, and 4.65% click-through against 0.68%, per the 2026 published reports. We quote the working range as 4 to 6 times the outcomes from the same budget rather than the raw ratios, because the published figures carry vendor-bias caveats explained below.

Caveats, before you quote these
- The headline CPC and CTR figures come from vendors whose business benefits from the format looking good. Treat them as direction, not gospel; the line-by-line examination is in Thought Leader Ads: the 2026 economics.
- Averages hide spread. Crowded categories pay far above the $2.42 standard-ad average; our own illustrative math uses $14 CPC for an expensive category.
- Any real evaluation should run against your own account's trailing baseline, not industry averages. That is what our free Proof Audit does.
